Curt Schilling went 9 strong innings as the Columbus Crowd clobbered the
outmatched reeling Chainsaw Proctologists, 19 to 2.
Garret Anderson had a good day at the plate. He smacked a three-run homer
(his 1st of the season) in the 2nd inning, delivered a single in the 8th
inning and doubled bringing in a run in the 8th inning. Columbus lit up the
scoreboard in the 2nd inning which saw them plate 7 runs on 6 hits and the
8th inning when they had 10 runs on 8 hits. Columbus rapped out 20 hits for
the afternoon.
Schilling(5-2), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Miguel
Batista(1-3) ended up with the loss. Frank Lopeman was very impressed with
his pitcher, Schilling, 'He had unusually good pitch placement this
afternoon. It was almost unfair - but a beautiful game to watch from where I
sat'
